The 3 day weekend was much needed but it came crashing down when Conrad refused to sleep last night and was up multiple times and then gave us QUITE the show at school drop-off this morning. My kid must be destined for the stage because he can turn those tears on and off at whim. And you’d have thought I was slowly chopping his arm off, at the sound of the screams he was emitting as he was carried to his classroom. Ugh … hoping we work through this stage soon. I had a bit of a meltdown towards the end of last week and am re-centering again to try and refocus on a few things: re-upping my Therapy appointments that I let slip, staying off Twitter, and trying to focus on the things I can control.
So far it’s helping, but we are only one day in ;) Here’s a lovely little engagement session to help get us through the short week.
Jeff and I met through mutual friends playing sports. We are both athletic and love sports. We remained friends for quite some time because we wanted to build a friendship first to see if a relationship is honestly what we wanted to pursue. As time went by, we became more attracted to each other and learned that we had a lot more in common than we originally thought. We then decided to go on our first official date.
Jeff, unknowingly to me, had been communicating with my father for quite some time. He ultimately made the decision to propose on Christmas. This was the best gift I could have received! He bought me a personalized bible, and highlighted the verse, Proverbs 18:22, “He who finds a wife, finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord”. This was the last gift that I had opened on Christmas. He had our three girls bring me the bible, and he instructed me to read it. As I was reading the verse, Jeff proceeded to get down on one knee, and with a room full of family and friends, he asked me the question that I had dreamed of for a very long time; “Crystal Renee Stubbs, will you do me the honor, and make me the happiest man on earth? Will you marry me?”
