It has been a week! Charlie has decided that all meals need to take 40+ minutes, including singing and dancing in his seat. So I guess he’s making up his own dinner theater show? It’s equal parts frustrating and entertaining. This weekend, Justin and I celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary, and we’re still undecided as to how to celebrate. I can’t believe it’s been 6 years already!
And today’s wedding is giving me all the heart eyes! As a craft beer lover, I am loving all of the little touches, especially their escort card table with glasses of beer!
Inspired by a love of craft beer and The Avett Brothers, Heather and Jordan’s Leap Day wedding (the same anniversary as Heather’s grandparents), was full of unique personal details, intimate moments, eclectic decor and an edgy, modern aesthetic. They incorporated rich jewel tones, dried elements, and wood and copper accents that were perfectly in keeping with the modern, industrial vibe of the venue.
Since they shared their first date at a local craft brewery in Baltimore, and Jordan is a homebrewer, their signature drinks were two of their favorite craft brews, Bells Two Hearted Ale and Union’s Duckpin, and their favors were pint glasses that said, ‘Love is Brewing’. To top it off, their venue is located above one of their favorite local breweries, Full Tilt Brewing, which lent to some great pre-ceremony photos in front of their colorful, graphic mural. Jordan wore a maroon plaid sport coat paired with black converse and a black cap, while the Heather wore a blush fur stole over her champagne colored dress with flecks of gold glitter and white converse that were embroidered with her new last name and wedding date.
The oversized fireplace in the den was the natural focal point for the ceremony, so the couple opted for a simple setup with a variety of candles and a handmade jewel-toned Persian rug. The incredible dried floral installation hung above the ceremony, and then was repurposed to go above the photo lounge during the reception. A Moroccan rug anchored the lounge, and the coffee table incorporated both wood and brass elements that worked perfectly with their boho vibe. The resulting seating area was a great spot to lounge, and also a fun area for guests to enjoy a photo op!
The escort card display, inspired by the couple’s love of beer, had individual mini glasses of beer with hand lettered table assignments, and a black acrylic Avett Brothers sign with the lyrics to their favorite song lettered in white was centered among the display. The modern and sculptural geometric table centerpieces were full of candlelight among greenery, bud vases and black acrylic table numbers. For their sweetheart table set-up, they paired a copper table with black velvet chairs, and incorporated the Persian rug they used for the ceremony.
Heather + Jordan wanted to host an incredible party for their guests, so as another way to add texture to the industrial space and a beautiful backdrop for photos, they hung greenery on the metal wall behind the band. They opted not to stop the dancing for any desserts, and instead dance the night away as husband and wife with all of their guests!
