Are the days all blurring together for everyone else too? I will say, I’m really enjoying this weather we’re having, and I’m looking forward to getting outside this weekend. I’m also hoping to take Charlie apple picking, though its becoming harder and harder to find orchards that still have apples. Turns out, those cold temps we had back in the spring ruined this year’s apple crops :( If you have any tips or suggestions, I’m all ears!

Today’s wedding features a gorgeous mix of an industrial venue with lush greenery and bright pops of color. You may remember Justine & Drew (and their adorable dog) from their engagement session last week, and today we have their wedding!

We said our wedding theme was industrial, modern, and chic. I have always been in love with the idea of an industrial venue juxtaposed with soft florals, pops of color, and lots of evergreen. The Winslow was the perfect industrial backdrop, with the history and charm of Baltimore (where we started dating), all wrapped into one.

Wild Pollen Designs was the brains behind the decor of our wedding. I knew I wanted lots of greenery, gold, and pops of fuchsia throughout the space. She took that vision and ran with it. From a custom floral dog collar, to bouquets and a ceremony arch, Ali created gorgeous designs that felt like wildflowers with just enough structure to not distract from our day. Ali also expertly included my grandfathers handkerchief,  an heirloom locket, and a glückschwein (lucky pig in German culture) into my bouquet to make it one of a kind.

We added a fun neon element with my new last name, as a photo backdrop for guests. We loved how the sign turned out, and seeing it in our guests photos. We plan to install it in our house to blind all our future houseguests.

The only other element I insisted on was incorporating our dog, Charlie. Although we were able to do politics with her beforehand, we still wanted to have a piece of her there with us. We used Etsy to create custom gold-foil embossed cocktail napkins with her likeness and our last name on them throughout cocktail hour.  I’m still sad I didn’t order more for us to use for special occasions!

The first look with just us and Charlie was the most special moment of our day. Our first look felt like a breath of fresh air in the chaos that is your wedding day. We were able to ground ourselves with our love and little family, take some beautiful photos, and then rejoin the chaos.

To couples that are in the middle of wedding planning, talk through your budget completely, especially if you are paying for the wedding yourself. Seemingly small bills add up very quickly leading to lots of additional stress that can take away from your big day.
