All this rain and gloom lately has me craving some sunshine and the outdoors, so today’s wedding is just the pick-me-up I need! Last month we featured Jason & Jess’s engagement session around the National Mall and Navy Yard. Today, we’re sharing their bright, fun-filled wedding at the gorgeous, Meridian House in NW DC.
From the photographer: They wanted their wedding to feel like a big summer party: a little bit fancy and a hell of a lot of fun. They focus on their guests experience, much like the Disney parks – something they both adore – famously focuses on.
The venue chosen was the Meridian House, a space with tons of history and a character all its own. They wanted a venue that was “very DC” and they loved how full of stories the house is and how the rooms are decorated with a vintage opulence.
They love Disney cruises, Arrested Development, the Obamas, and traveling, hints of which can all be seen at their wedding. There were shades of orange throughout the day, a nod to Jess & Jason’s love of Orange Bird, an obscure and adorable Disney mascot.
