Becky & Greg’s Washington, DC Engagement
Their love story:
Our story is one of pure romance…because it begins with Facebook stalking.  I knew of Greg well before I was even a blip on his radar.  Greg became friends with some of the kids I went to grade school with when he moved to Yorktown, VA in high school, while I spent those awkward years in Springfield, VA. Then, in college, he studied abroad with one of my high school friends, who ended up formally introducing us in summer 2008 (thanks Frank!).
It all began at Liberty Tavern, where I approached Greg and shared embarrassing stories of all his friends. After that, I paid Greg little attention until we met again in October after a Girl Talk concert, and he asked me out on a date via text.  We’ll blame that on nerves.  We had our first date at Coastal Flats, and we stayed until they shut the place down.

The proposal!
After we endured two years of long distance, we reunited in D.C., and Greg proposed. Last September, I had just returned from a bachelorette weekend for my lovely bridesmaid, Jaime, and was feeling a bit under the weather. We were getting ready to head down to the OBX, and I still needed to pack and get ready, but thought I heard Greg talking to himself out in the living room (logical). I poked my head out just in time to see him mid sign-hanging, looking like a deer in headlights.
Obviously, my first thought was that he was hanging decorations because he was so excited to go to the beach (logical again).
This was apparently not the case. He then started to deliver what I’m sure was a very meaningful speech, but it’s not really clear, because I think I blacked out, then there was crying, and then we were engaged. I couldn’t ask for a better partner in life.
A note the bride to be shared about their engagement shoot:
We knew we wanted to take our engagement photos in and around our neighborhood of North Dupont, because it’s where we created our first home together. So after Leo met us at the Carnegie for a few shots, we set out on foot and spent the next four hours taking photos and getting to know each other. We even got some shots inside our apartment, which we adore, and where our engagement took place!
It was such an amazing day, and one I’ll never forget. We can’t wait to have Leo shoot our wedding!
Congratulations Becky & Greg – thank you for stalking me in order to make this feature possible ;) thank you also for sharing your beautiful DC engagement & love story with us! A special thanks to Leo Druker Photography for sharing his images.
