Remember Chris & Vida and their adorable waterside engagement session in Alexandria, VA? Well they are BACK this time with their romantic Sea Foam & Teal Virginia wedding at the Regency at Dominion Valley! Photographer Kelly Ewell set the stage beautifully for Chris & Vida’s big day with this note:
When I asked Vida what she was looking forward to most about her wedding day, it wasn’t seeing her vision come together or reuniting with long-missed family members. It was simply that she was going to get to start her own new family with Chris. To finally “bind our lives together publicly, and to celebrate our marriage and our love.
^uh. Love. I know you guys will love all the simple & beautiful details from Chris & Vida’s wedding below!

My dress was very lacey and romantic looking, which really inspired my whole day. I love green, and I wanted very romantic, springy colors in our wedding. I settled on shades of pale green and seafoam along with white.
Oh, and did I mention my [adorable vintage teal flats] shoes?! I adore them, and they were so much fun at the wedding!
On using the help of friends & family to plan and execute their Virginia wedding:
We planned and coordinated everything ourselves with the exception of the wonderful staff at Regency Dominion Valley. My mother was a lifesaver. She helped me pick out my dress, venue, hand-tied bags of candied almonds (a traditional Italian wedding favor), and generally kept me calm throughout the whole thing! Chris’s brother presided over our marriage vows, which was so special to us.
Chris himself was absolutely amazing throughout our entire engagement. He talked me off the “let’s elope” ledge so many times and each time it made me feel so blessed that I was marrying him.

At the time of our wedding, Chris’s older brother was a deacon, and we were so excited to have him perform our wedding ceremony! The ceremony took place at the church Chris grew up in and where he went through grade school, so it was a very special location for us!
On their wedding venue selection, the Regency at Dominion Valley:
We wanted an all-inclusive venue nearby the church. I have so much admiration for those who plan every detail of their wedding, but I know that is not me – I needed a place that had a caterer and all set-up included! But we also wanted a place with beautiful grounds so we could take advantage of the beautiful spring weather!
Regency Dominion Valley was a wonderful choice. It had the pretty views we wanted and offered lots of outdoor space for our cocktail hour and photos, as well as a beautiful ballroom that fit everyone without seeming too vast.
The baby’s breath bouquets for the bridesmaids:
I love the recent trend of baby’s breath at weddings. It looks so airy and romantic to me – just what I wanted for our wedding! The bridesmaids all carried baby’s breath bouquets and they are one of my favorite details of the day!
The bridesmaids wore beautiful, floor-length sea foam green dresses!
The bridesmaids’ dresses turned out perfectly. It took a while to find the perfect color, but I love how they looked and I think all the girls looked fabulous in them.
To keep our baby’s breath centerpieces more elegant and less rustic, we had them set on crystal candlesticks my mom and I bought at discount home stores.
Love the modern wedding signs they had at the venue in teal & white. Vida actually hand-painted the one on the right!
A project that I really loved that I also got lots of comments about was our ‘relationship timeline’ that I hand painted. It included our first date, proposal date, etc. I loved it!
The escort cards ended up being our most time-consuming, but favorite detail! We love houseplants, and I so wanted to have little take-home plants for our guests. I water colored paper name tags by hand in different shades of greens and seafoam before writing everyone’s name.
The name tags were attached with twine to little glasses that held potted succulents. I think they ended up looking so cute and guests loved them! I am eternally grateful for my sweet husband for helping me plant each little succulent and tie every single name card!
In the weeks after the wedding, we’ve gotten some text photos of how the plants are doing now – we love that our friends kept the plants and can be reminded of our wedding every time they see their growing succulent!
love the mini succulent escort card / favors!
My mother also hand wrapped candied almond for every guest, which is a traditional Italian wedding favor.
I couldn’t resist including this one – I just ADORE Vida’s face in it :)
Congratulations Chris & Vida! Thank you for sharing your beautiful teal Northern Virginia wedding with us! A special thanks again to Kelly Ewell Photography for sharing her images via Two Bright Lights.

It is really an interesting wedding ceremony,so nice!
Does anyone know where did she got her bridesmaid dresses from? I love the color and would want to use them for my wedding too!
Lynn – I can ask her ! :)
Hi Lynn – the bride was super quick with her response, she said, “The dresses are by Allure and are design #1221. The color we used is called “waterfall”.” Hope this helps!
Hi, I found the dress on the Allure website but how to you go about buying the dress or finding the price? I couldn’t find it on the website so it made me think that you have to buy it in the store. Thanks!
Where did you get those adorable shoes!!! they are exactly what I would wear too/?!
