In keeping with the temperature matching posts this week (which, was purely accident!), today we have a HOT trash the dress session to share! Remember last week when we shared Monica & David’s offbeat, Mexican wedding in Playa del Carmen? Well, two days after they tied the knot, they decided to take complete advantage of being somewhere beautiful and different for their wedding, and they did a Trash the Dress photo shoot!

Monica & David’s Mexican Beach Trash the Dress Session
Monica shares why they chose to do a “Trash the Dress” session:
Since we were getting married in beautiful Playa del Carmen, we wanted to do something different with our photography. We knew we were going to get the traditional wedding day photos but still wanted to bring a little “edge” into our photos. We scheduled a “trash the dress” photo shoot two days after we got married. Luckily I had two wedding dresses (one not so fancy that I actually could move in)…so I wore that for the shoot and David wore just a regular shirt, tie and dress pants.
Moments that Matter Photography shot our session and we had a blast! We shot in 3 different locations; the first in some random alley with lots of graffiti and beautiful foliage. We then hit the beach to do our water scenes.
It had never been done before but since David is a skimmer, he wanted to get a few shots of him in the water on his board. They turned out great! This was my favorite part of the shoot. Next we moved to a random mosaic water fountain outside one of the nice hotels downtown.
We wanted different and edgy and definitely got both!
I am still in awe of couples that choose to do a “Trash the Dress” session, but I love the way Monica & David’s came out and think it was a perfect compliment to their wedding.
