I get really giddy when I get to feature the wedding of a couple who’s engagement shoot I also featured. Such is the case this morning [and thus, I am giddy] thanks to the ah-mazing Tim Riddick Photography & Two Bright Lights.
Back in July I featured Sean & Rosanne’s beautiful Washington, DC engagement shoot at the Capitol Building. I loved so much about this shoot and was REALLY hoping I would be able to feature their wedding too!
So thanks again Tim Riddick Photography, Two Bright Lights, and Sean & Rosanne [who gave me some fun details to include with the wedding feature!] for making my wish come true :)
Sean & Rosanne’s Virginia Vineyard Wedding with Peacock Details!
Rosanne shares:
We didn’t have a wedding planner, so I planned the whole wedding myself with the help of Sean’s mom and her friends. The wedding was at CrossKeys Vineyards, which is owned by close family friends of Sean. It was a beautiful day and the scenery was an amazing setting for the wedding.
love Ro’s blue shoes … aaaaand this awesome Zombie Marilyn Monroe tattoo!

Etsy, that is where we got our invitations, which were awesome, as well as my peacock feather hair clip, custom rubber stamps, groom’s ring, and bride/bridesmaid jewelry.
During the ceremony, my Uncle played our requested songs on the guitar. He is a great musician and has an amazing voice. We walked down the aisle to the chorus of “Forever My Friend” by Ray Lamontagne. The wedding was officiated by an interfaith minister, Rev Barnhart, who I highly recommend to anyone looking for a non-traditional wedding. http://www.allfaithministry.
com/ The best man sang Unchained Melody during the ceremony. He did an amazing job!
Yes! I love the family involvement in the ceremony music. Makes your ceremony that much more personal and meaningful!
The wedding had a peacock feather theme. Sean’s mom Joy made fabulous arrangements by hand with the help of some of her friends. She also did all of the decorations in the reception hall and ceremony area.
Can you believe these arrangements were hand-made by the groom’s mom?! I am in love with them!
Because the wedding was at a vineyard, we made DIY placecard holders by cutting corks in half, and putting the cards into a slit cut across the top (picture). We also made our own programs. We printed the program on white paper, and glued it to a copper colored background. Then we attached fan handles and tied blue or greenribbon around the handle. We also stamped peacock feathers on the programs with a rubber stamp handmade from Etsy.
Another creative thing we had at the wedding was a “wedding guest tree” instead of a guestbook. I drew a large tree with no leaves in black ink on a thick mat board. We had different colored stamp pads for guests to ink their fingerprint as a leaf on the tree, and write their name beside it. At the end of the night it was full of leaves! We’re planning to frame it and hang it up as a keepsake from the wedding day.
Love the blue & green cake details coming up next!
The shots Tim Riddick got of the Father-Daughter dance and of the Mother-Son dance are just faaaabulous!
The reception was so much fun! There was tons of dancing and everyone had a blast. Sean even had the DJ bring his karaoke setup so he could sing a Backstreet Boys song at the very end of the night.
Oh yes, it certainly looks that way! I LOVE that they sang BSB at the end of the night :)
I knew Sean & Rosanne’s wedding wouldn’t disappoint. MAN what a beautiful, colorful theme and it looked like SUCH an amazing party! Thanks again to Tim Riddick Photography & Two Bright Lights for making this real Virginia wedding submission possible. AND Congratulations again to Sean & Ro!! Best of luck to you!
