You know it is going to be a special day when the wedding venue is also the site of the couple’s first official date. After years in the same friendship circle, time spent overseas and earning various academic degrees between them, Lauren and Peter *finally* went on a date to see Dashboard Confessional play at Wolf Trap. (Yes, #teamCapRo is jealous!) Celebrating their wedding back where it all began only made sense.
The Barns at Wolftrap is comprised of two connected restored 18th century barns. This fun-loving group had a blast capturing these historic spaces with talented photographer Moy Dumadag.
Inside the scene was set with warm wood tones, cool blue-grey accents, and classic white florals. The couple included their guests’ own wedding photos with a display from Social Supply Design & Decor rentals, which guests immediately flocked to see during the cocktail hour!
Look at those smiles! After the ceremony and cocktail hour, guests returned to find the ceremony room transformed. A long head table was centered in the barn. Rounds for more seating flanked the center table, which allowed the couple to truly be among their guests. Live music was a must for this couple, and The Bachelor Boys Band delivered a truly awesome set.
But I’ve been saving the best for last: the bride and her grandmother baked and decorated the wedding cake! Turns out Grandma has decorated a few cakes in her time and was only too happy to come out of retirement for her granddaughter. Personal touches also came in the form of custom cookies featuring the couple’s pet cats.
We had a great time dancing along through the night with Lauren and Peter! Huge thanks to an incredible vendor team that made it all happen.
