I thought today’s intro would be cheery and upbeat … but as usual, America had other plans. Last night a draft opinion leaked from the Supreme Court, showing that Roe V Wade is all but overturned. The fact that we’ve been told this would happen for months, doesn’t lessen the devastation, fury, and dread that I feel. Every day it gets harder to live in this country and the exhaustion of trying to keep a positive face, do my day job, and pretend things are “ok” (Because also, let’s be honest, for a White, privileged woman like myself, living in DC, they mostly will be), is untenable.
The best I got right now is if you have money, please send it to LOCAL abortion funds: https://abortionfunds.org
The styled shoot was inspired by the venue, the Orlando Museum Of Art. We wanted a color palette that complimented the venue’s warm tones. Black and gold helped tie in the modern and sleek aesthetic of the venue without overpowering it. The geometric element was also inspired by the gold frames that hung up the unique artwork throughout the museum.
