There are no kids in our house for the first time since March 2020. 18 months of working + living + daycaring + homeschooling … all inside our house in DC. It’s VERY strange how quiet it is as I type this. Conrad did AMAZING at his first day of pre-K, even all masked up (in his PJ Mask mask of course), and on his own walking into a brand new place with all new friends … he was SO EXCITED. I wish I could bottle his unbridled joy … it’s desperately needed right now as the onslaught of horrible & catastrophic news in America is suffocating. I also know that we will likely either catch COVID and/or be quarantining soon with the high spread of Delta in DC / schools. So I am trying to take it one moment at a time. The best advice I’ve seen that I truly trying to follow is this. We have to keep fighting and doing what we can. Happy Thursday Romancers.
I love pastels, so I wanted to just go pastel crazy for this shoot! Cotton candy is the perfect pop and texture for this vision. It was so fun thinking of different ways to get this fluffy and fun idea across! Pair that with the charming downtown venue, 1840s Plaza, some soft romantic touches, a ton of joy, and you get, Fun and Flirty!
The main detail was the cotton candy cart! I loved the sweet little white carts, so I asked my father if he could make one for me. I am so grateful for both my parents help in this. Not only did my dad make the cart, but my mom let me use her favorite dishes! I also wanted to have a lot of unique florals and soft romantic look to pair with the theme.
