Back from a lovely trip to CT and Vermont … got to see my brother and his family (outdoors at a distance!) for the first time in over a year(!!!!). Then we got some lovely spring days with a paddle boat ride on the lake and pony rides at a farm … and then some rain/snow mix lol. We came back to DC – which is in FULL BLOOM (gorgeous, but hello allergies), and I am looking forward to getting back into it, as I stare down the busiest month ahead of us in …. well over a year.
May is a wedding we get to attend (what?!), my daughter’s 6th birthday (how?!), and the first wedding I get to work in like almost two years (insane). And then I get another year older and thanks to science, hopefully we can at least celebrate it outdoors with friends somewhere, and not on Zoom.
Here’s to spring time in DC and more vaccines and LOVE.
Neither of us remember where we met, but we both assume it was at the campus ministry we were involved in in college. We went for three years, only talking occasionally, until our senior year when a mutual friend encouraged Chris to ask Naomi out.
Our first date was at a Starbucks near our campus. We ended up talking for hours about comic books, star wars, school, our passions… so much.
Chris had an elaborate proposal plan that was messed up by COVID. He is still holding onto his original plan for another time, but he planned a wonderful proposal anyway. He took me on a picnic at a park near the University of Maryland. When I was in school years ago, I would go to that park, and always thought it would be a cute spot for someone to propose. We sat by the lake, had some wine, and he got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him.
