Another week over, another feeling of “where the hell is time going?!” I cannot believe it’s April already, and I KNOW that these next two months are just going to fly. I am grappling with what to do about summer camp, and a birthday party for Evie in May … and I can’t lie that I am feeling lots of anxiety about going back to the world of having plans every weekend and trying to coordinate and plan long term. There was something to be said about having literally no expectations for every weekend.
But at least we have this sssssssssseriously stunning shoot on the blog today (even if it is like 30 degrees outside again in DC and I have my heater on full blast). Happy Friday all!
The whole idea behind this shoot was to celebrate a deep, intense love, and play off the contrast of edgy and soft – the edgy tattoos and feminine lace detailing of the dress, the black linens and soft chiffon, the stiletto nails and traditionally romantic roses and lush greenery. We adored the way that our bride’s, nearly fully tattooed body contrasts the soft, romantic lace of her blush dress, and the way the vintage loveseat with the lush floral pillars and marble backdrop gave a hint of a boudoir feel.
We wanted to showcase warmth and romance, keeping the edgy details that make this couple unique while maintaining a feminine vibe to the look of the shoot, capturing the love and overall style of real-life husband and wife, Lauren & Michael.
