Ugh! The latest incident of violence towards the Asian community is wearing on me. Kind of like that perpetual feeling of worry I had at the beginning of the pandemic. I think it’s partly due to my mom, aunts & uncles now being fully vaccinated, and out and about a bit more, making themselves more vulnerable and exposed. And then there are my cousins, and my cousins’ kids… If nothing else, this last year has made it really apparent just how much work there is to do, and I hope that my son will grow up to make a difference in this world somehow.
The inspiration behind this shoot was a Fall, bohemian vibe. The colors also spoke to the team and I, as we felt capturing orange tones would work best. Plus, you really don’t see too many events with orange as a main color. We also thought it would be unique to have a horse apart of the shoot too.
