Happy Monday, Romancers! I’m feeling reinvigorated after this weekend! My sister-in-law and niece stopped in for an overnight visit on their drive down to North Carolina. Not only was it great to see family, but it was so fun for our son to hang out with his cousin (who is only 4 months younger) for the first time since Christmas. It was so fun to see them interact, especially since neither of them are used to being around other kids, given the pandemic. My heart is so full, and it was exactly what I (and our whole family) needed.
To get this week started, we have Kelsey & Ryan’s gorgeous engagement shoot. They are planning for a wedding in Greece, and wanted their engagement photos to have a similar vibe, so the columns at the Arboretum were the perfect choice! Hope everyone has a great week!
Ryan and Kelsey met the old fashion way – through Tinder! They would say something like, “love at first swipe,” but it was far from it. Kelsey’s friend downloaded the app and told her to “go out on a few dates.” The friend swiped right on Ryan, and the rest is history! He was Kelsey’s first and last Tinder date.
Ryan and Kelsey are equal parts homebody and adventurers. They bond over their love of food and wine whether they are at home cooking or traveling around the world. They are both TV super fans and could dedicate an entire 24 hours to watching their favorite shows. Their shared passion is animal rescue! They currently have a rescue dog from Puerto Rico and hope to have a whole house full of dogs in the future.
Although getting married would not be a surprise, Ryan tried his best to pop the question! They both wanted to create a special custom engagement ring together, but the proposal was to come at a later date. Try as he might, Kelsey caught on about a week prior. Ryan planned to propose at her parent’s river house in Mathews, VA, during the fall. He caught the moment just right during sunset surrounded by their family.
Their engagement ring is truly one of a kind. They took their vision to Bario Neal to create a special ring that was designed by both of their creative minds. Set on a 18k gold band, they chose an asymmetrical design featuring an oval center diamond. The diamond is hugged by a trio of ombre diamonds and sapphires; symbolic for their three phases of their relationship. Tucked away at the bottom, Kelsey chose a small ruby to be closest to her, as it is Ryan’s birthstone.
