Another weekend has come and gone, and I’m not ready to face another Monday. After being away, it always takes me a while to settle back into the daily routine, and it took me the better part of last week to get back in the groove. It’s been compounded by the little one teething, and not wanting to take his afternoon nap. On the bright side, my 5-yr wedding anniversary is coming up on Saturday, and we’ve got a Buttercream Bakeshop cake on order! We’re still trying to decide where to order dinner from. Any recommendations?
To kick off this week, we have an adorable surprise proposal, disguised as a, “We bought a house” photo shoot!
Samantha and I met the old fashion way, through friends. It was one of my good friend’s birthday, and his girlfriend invited us to her friend’s place to have drinks before going out. Truth be told, I really didn’t want to go out that night, but I am so glad that I did because that was the night I met Samantha.
Samantha and I are both very much foodies, and routinely fight over who gets to cook dinner and what is going to be on the menu for the night. We both love to travel and experience new adventures. Sam has pushed me to advance my career, and I have done everything I can to help Sam finish her nursing degree.
Samantha and I had been looking into buying our first home, and I knew it would be the perfect time to propose. I was trying to think of a special way to surprise her so after closing on the house, I arranged for a photographer for a, “We bought a house!” photo shoot. I set everything up with the photographer, and in the middle of the photo shoot, I ran inside to grab our dog, Tucker. I slipped a sign around his neck with, “Mommy will you marry Daddy?”, and cue the waterworks. She had no idea it was coming, and I am so glad we were able to get the whole moment captured!
