We finished another week you guys. WHAT AN ACCOMPLISHMENT. No I am not kidding – every Friday is a freakin’ celebration in this house. It wasn’t easy, but I do think we are finally finding a groove/routine here at the Ryback house and I feel more confident in my abilities to somewhat handle this (for now … til the next curve ball is thrown). Maybe it was the lack of ER trips?

We’ve decided to make each Friday a true celebration – mornings will be family dance parties, and Friday evenings we will splurge and buy a dessert from a local DC dessert shop (I’m thinking District Doughnut tonight). We also finally decided to buy a swingset for the kids and I am thrilled that they will finally have something outside to climb, swing, and slide on again. We miss the playgrounds in our neighborhood so much :(

Hope you all are hanging in best you can. Another Friday down and some more gorgeous wedding inspiration to gawk at. Let’s go.

From the photographer: Earlier this year, I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Darcy on Rhode Island Ave. for a “stay-cation.” While there with my fiancé, I found myself pleasantly surprised over and over again with stellar staff and local charm that made me fall in love with my hometown all over again. Had we not already decided on our destination venue for our wedding, we would have booked in a heartbeat.

As a photographer and bride-to-be, I knew I had to shoot in this special location and share it with others planning weddings. A few short months later, I connected with the events coordinator for the hotel and was fortunate enough to plan a styled wedding shoot.

Over the course of my time planning and working with The Darcy, I continued to become absolutely enamored by the attention to DC-detail and friendly approachability of the hotel. It truly is a place for locals and visitors alike to uncover all that makes our city so special.

From the local vendors that donated their time and talent and the models that went from strangers to good friends (I’m not kidding – we still have a group chat going), to a stellar DC sunset and monuments by night, this shoot was truly one-of-a-kind. And now, I would love for others to share in the excitement.
