Happy Monday, everyone! While I’m a little sad we never got any snow this winter, I certainly can’t complain about today’s weather. We had a relaxing, yet productive weekend with wedding meetings, and a trip out to the ‘burbs to shop for a car seat and hit up Wegman’s. Our little guy will be 9 months on Saturday, and he’s already grown out of his infant car seat! Where has the time gone?!?! (I’m not crying. You’re crying.) To start your week off right, we’ve got one of my favorite couples from last year, photographed by some of my favorite photographers!
Michael and Liz met at a mutual friend’s engagement party in 2013. Both were immediately smitten and planned to meet again for a first date the following week, on what turned out to be the first day of a government shutdown.
Michael, a federal employee at the time, suddenly found himself unexpectedly free for the next couple weeks, and used that time to pursue Liz — after five dates over two weeks, culminating in a birthday dinner for Liz on the day the shutdown ended, they were officially a couple.
Michael and Liz became engaged on March 3, 2018, at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial after a day spent together wine tasting in Virginia. The couple were joined at their engagement by one of their closest friends, Mylinda McDaniel, who hid nearby and took pictures. A class of middle schoolers arrived at the memorial at approximately the same time as the couple, an unanticipated circumstance that led to a slight delay in the engagement as Michael waited for the large group to head back to their tour bus.
