March is about to get super busy you guys … with not much rest to follow in April … or maybe for the rest of the year? But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, first things first, I want to share some seriously exciting news: I’ve been asked to be a part of the OWN IT Summit, an intersectional, feminist, leadership summit taking place on March 25th at Georgetown University. This student-run summit bills itself as a “series of kick-ass summits and opportunities for young women”. Based on their core values of leadership, accessibility, inclusivity, and feminism, their mission is “to bridge the gap between female leaders and the millennials who admire them … shaking up the women’s leadership arena by producing events accessible to college-aged women of all demographics — not just those who can afford to pay their way.”
Are you as pumped as I am yet? Because Oh. My. Gee.
One of my 2018 business goals was to get more speaking engagements under my belt and on my schedule, but never did I imagine my first one of the year would be at an event as cool, critical, and fascinating as OWN IT. We’ll be sponsoring some goodies for the 600+ attendees’ goodie bags, hoping to get some #CapRoShop items up in the summit’s marketplace, AND the most exciting news: getting to be a part of the “Women In Entrepreneurship” morning breakout session. I am nervous, but also SO excited, and super honored. I mean, just take a look at their past speakers, and they have three amazing speakers already confirmed for this year. I truly can’t believe how awesome this event is going to be and that I get to be a part of it. If you know any college aged women that might be interested in attending, please send them here!
Keeping up with the speaking engagement goal, I am super excited to announce ANOTHER engagement that I’ll have a TON more information to share on, next week. It’s called DC Wedding Week and it’s going to be AMAZING. Immersive, collaborative, educational, creative, and truly one of-a-kind, DC Wedding Week is a brand new, game-changing event launching in DC and I will be hosting a panel of industry disrupters during one of the week-long series of events.
So, back to back months of super rad speaking engagements, just as we head into wedding season (and OMG the last minute 2017 bookings has been slightly insane … ), with a family trip to Arizona & San Fran in early April, and then something even crazier coming at the end of July/early August: another Ryback. That’s right, because life never seems to get crazy enough, in addition to a full wedding slate, trying to grow my speaking engagements & our wholesaling platform of CapRoShop goodies, AND being in my sister’s wedding this Fall, we thought another kid would make it all more fun :)
Bring on the insanity.
