It’s been one of those weeks (and it’s only Tuesday Romancers). I’m dropping the ball on the blog, but getting things done on other CapRo fronts! We’re SO CLOSE to having our very first wholesale agreement with the oh-so-awesome Shop Made in DC store in Dupont Circle (!!!! EEEEEP!!!).
Amber and Quentin drove down from Delaware just for their engagement portraits. Washington, DC has a special place in their hearts, because it’s where Quentin proposed! We had such a fun afternoon exploring some iconic locations- Amber and Quentin wanted portraits that felt very DC-esque, so their shoot incorporated a beautiful Badgley Mischka gown and lots of marble and architectural details.
Amber and Quentin met through a mutual friend who tried to setup a blind date. The date didn’t go as planned (Amber didn’t show up!), so they started texting instead. Texting led to phone conversations, which led to finally meeting in person at the school they both attended at the time.
The proposal!
Over Easter weekend, Amber and Quentin planned a little getaway to their favorite city, Washington D.C. They stayed at the chic Hotel Palomar, just a few blocks from DuPont Circle. After dinner, Amber and Quentin made their way down to Oxon Hill to ride the Capitol Ferris Wheel. With the Harbour lights, water, and boats twinkling in the background, Amber and Quentin took in their surroundings.
About their third time around, the Wheel stopped at the top, and Quentin asked Amber, “Are you ready?” She continued to look out the car window as she responded, “for what?” Turning around to look at him, there he was on his knee, with a gorgeous rose gold diamond ring.
Amber said yes (hooray!), and for the remainder of the weekend they kept it their secret until they returned home to share the happy news with their families. In the words of their wedding hashtag, #PerrytalesDoComeTrue!
