It’s been a week Romancers. Does anyone else feel like this has been the LONGEST WEEK EVER? Maybe it was the lack of rest last weekend from having friends in town, or the multiple evening meetings I had this week (while still trying to find time to exercise), or the emotionally draining witnessing of the Nassar trial, or a nice mid-week Toddler sickness scare at daycare … I don’t know but I can truly say thank God it’s Friday.
For today we have a fun, industrial & metallic inspired wedding design shoot from some DC wedding vendors. They used the venue, Malmaison in Georgetown as inspiration for the shoot & now I just really want a bride to wear this grey dress and hire me to coordinate their wedding ;-p Enjoy and hope you all have a FABULOUS weekend.
The Malmaison is nestled in the Georgetown waterside area of DC which was the perfect backdrop to our industrial café inspired styled shoot. We were able to immerse ourselves in all that the waterside area had to offer from its exposed brick, hanging chandeliers outside, and the Potomac River. This venue was the perfect backdrop for Pantone’s color of the year as it influenced the color pallet for the shoot. With hues of purple and complementing them with neutral colors such as grey and black we were able to let the color of the year shine. During this shoot I wanted to play on the edginess of the venue with its exposed industrial features so I partnered with local gown designer, Kelsy Dominick of DiDomenico who designed an amazing non-traditional wedding gown. The intricate lace details and beading on the platinum gown was the perfect piece to set the shoot over the edge.
