Happy Monday Romancers. I am a little bit sad the snow barely stuck around after it finished falling on Saturday – it was SO darn pretty! It certainly helped me finally get into the holiday spirit too. Now I just need to finish ALL the shopping. We had a great weekend spending some time with friends, working more on the house, treating ourselves to massages … and buying a new car! We said bye to “slimer”, our beloved bright green fiesta, and get our new Rav4 Hybrid, name pending, on Wednesday. And yes, it’s just as bright as our last car, but blue this time ;)
For today we have a lovely engagement session featuring the quintessential sites of DC. Enjoy and have a great start to your week!
Meredith and David met the “old fashioned” way: online. After Meredith initiated the first conversation between the pair, David eventually asked her out to dinner on U Street. On the night the couple were set to meet, however, Meredith made the regrettable mistake of driving to U Street. After looking for parking for more than 20 minutes, she arrived to the restaurant just before David was about to leave the restaurant, believing he was being stood up.
After three years of dating, David decided to propose to Meredith during a romantic trip to Charlottesville, Virginia, home of Meredith’s alma mater, the University of Virginia. But just days before the trip, Meredith became very ill and the trip was cancelled. Once Meredith was feeling better, David took her out to see the not-at-all romantic movie “Moonlight,” followed by dinner at one of the couple’s favorite restaurants, Himitsu.
When the pair arrived back at Meredith’s apartment, there were flowers and champagne waiting on the counter. David got down on one knee and popped the question!
Meredith and David plan to wed on September 22, 2018 at the Westin Georgetown in Washington, DC.
