Oversized balloons, a tea-length dress (with black crinoline flowing out) and the most adorable mini-black top hat? Well yes of COURSE I’d love to feature this Black and White, Offbeat Bridal Inspiration shoot from IYQ Photography!
Great things happen when rad vendors like IYQ Photography & Two Black Flats team up. And this offbeat bride inspired shoot is the perfect example. The venue provided an oversized chess board, which went perfectly with their “Mad Hatter” theme. The makeup was edgy (love) and I love the accents of black in the styling. Oh how I would LOVE to see more brides take a daring approach to their wedding day!

A bit from IYQ Photography on the ‘madness’ behind the shoots’ theme:
We were inspired by the fun, whimsical offbeat setting of the stunning Historic Mankin Mansion in Richmond, Va. The ornate back and white accents were the perfect compliment to Katy’s bridal look.
Her look included a tea length dress with vintage gloves, a custom ombre crinoline and the perfect veil accessory- a mini top hat from Two Back Flats. Her gorgeous pale pallet bouquet was provided by Sweets and Soirees and of course, no whimsical bridal session would be complete with a few oversized white balloon.
love that fabric flower belt! Check out how to make one yourself here, with our own DIY Flower Belt tutorial!
