Back this afternoon with a beautiful Washington, DC engagement sesion from Capitol Romance favorite, Tim Riddick Photography. I’ve gone on and on before about Tim’s amazing photography skills and his unique style, so I’ll save you all from sitting through it again, but his images really speak for themselves anyway.
Andrew & Ally were high school sweethearts and have been dating since they were 17 (oh hell yeah, us too!!). They have been together for a long time, but decided online recently to get married after collecting college degrees, masters, and almost a PhD. Wowza!
They decided to have their engagement session amidst the Capitol Building grounds and the results feature a stunning tree & some beautiful DC architecture. A special thanks again to Tim Riddick for submitting & sharing his beautiful images.
Andrew & Ally’s Washington, DC Engagement Session at the Capitol Building
How they met:
Andrew and I are high school sweethearts who have been dating since we were 17 years old. We met when our younger sisters danced ballet together and then started dating after we went Cosmic bowling the summer before our senior year started. We’ve been in love and together ever since!
We knew we would be together forever 10 years ago, but after waiting until we collected two college degrees, two masters degrees, and getting halfway through a PhD we couldn’t wait any longer! :)

The Proposal Story:
Many years ago we first told each other “I love you” while sitting in Andrew’s 1998 Black Jeep Cherokee. Fast forward 10 years, Andrew came home from work one day and asked me if to go with him to see an open air Shakespeare performance of Romeo and Juliet. I wondered who had kidnapped my boyfriend and replaced him with this man…but since I could see he was trying to be sweet I just enthusiastically said I’d love to!
The next night we walked out to that very same Jeep Cherokee on our way to the show (he LOVES his car…he is still upset I suggested he take advantage of “cash for clunkers”). After Andrew opened the door for me he said that he thought he had left his phone in the house and asked me to look in the glove compartment for it.
When I opened the glove compartment there was a note asking “Will you Marry Me?” and when I turned shocked to look at Andrew he was down on one knee holding my ring!
Congratulations Andrew & Ally for finally making it to the altar after 10 years ;) Thank you for sharing your beautiful love story with us! A special thanks again to Tim Riddick Photography as well, for sharing his beautiful images!
