Kicking off the week with a beautiful Meadowlark Gardens engagement session from Softbox Media. Then this afternoon we will share the inspiration post that was supposed to be up on Friday [sorry again about that!]. Both of this items seem to be unintentionally winter themed. Which I guess is a nice contrast to the GORGEOUS spring weather we are finally getting here in DC :)
I really love this engagement session because they decided to take some of the pictures at night – which you don’t always see. They decided to do a shoot with Christmas lights as the backdrop because their relationship started in December at a festival of lights (too cute!). Also, the couple met at a Renaissance Festival – so totally my kind of people.

Take it away Tori!
We met in October 2005 and went to the Maryland Renaissance Festival with a few friends. We bonded over a couple of turkey legs and jousting!
On December 16, 2005, Peter asked me to be his girlfriend as we were driving through the festival of lights.
We spent 7 awesome years getting to know each other and enjoying our time together!

On August 24, 2012, we went to a Jason Mraz concert. I was so excited to see my favorite artist and we even had 3rd row seats! We met up with my friend, Ali and her fiance for a drink before the concert and Peter shared with them that he was planning to propose during a specific song. Ali was AMAZING, made a few calls to her friends who work at the venue, and then during the concert, there was the staff photographer taking photos of us waiting for the big moment! I did think it was strange there was a guy taking photos of us, but didn’t think much of it.
Poor Peter had to wait through the whole concert for the very last song. He appeared to be very calm throughout the night (although he disagrees), I didn’t suspect a thing! He proposed and the crowded around us cheered. It was definitely unexpected considering how quiet Peter is to plan out such a public proposal. It was such an unforgettable night!
Here we are today, planning our wedding and the rest of our lives together!”
Congratulations Tori & Peter! Thank you for sharing your engagement session with us! A special thanks again to Softbox Media Photography & Two Bright Lights for making this Northern Virginia engagement feature possible.
