Last week Jalapeno Photography shared this beautiful Rustic, Fall-inspired wedding styled shoot with a cohort of other Northern Virginia wedding vendors ~ and today we get to share another shoot from Jalapeno. This time, it’s the beautiful engagement session of Michael & Samir in Georgetown, DC.
I am attempting not to overshadow this beautiful engagement with my own sentiments on same-sex marriage, but Maryland is set to vote on their same-sex marriage bill with the November election, and it could potentially become the first state to legalize it with a popular vote (though Maine and Washington will have the chance too). So if you haven’t realized it yes, Capitol Romance welcomes ALL couples and people, and we firmly believe in the right to marry for ALL human beings. Love is love.
Ok I am done….
Meet Michael & Samir … and my absolute favorite image from their engagement session:
Jalapeno Photography shares:
Two politicos, Michael and Samir, found one another post political party in the melting pot that is Washington, DC. Michael’s Jewish and from Alaska. Samir’s Indian and from Missouri. Regardless of their differences, once they met, they were inseparable!
During Michael and Samir’s courtship, they learned a lot about one another and traveled to far flung places– like campaigning in Alaska! The ebbing and flowing of D.C. politics can be difficult on a relationship, but Michael and Samir weathered it as administrations and jobs changed.
One night, they began discussing their own future as opposed to politics. At this point, they agreed. Michael and Samir knew they wanted to be together for the long run!

Congratulations Michael  & Samir! Best of luck with the planning of your wedding. A special thanks to Jalapeno Photography for sharing today’s DC engagement session!

I LOVE this! Great work, guys. Awesome shoot with a lot of love and character — I love the image in the library (if that’s where that is?). Just amazing.
