Wedding Inspiration: Coastal Boho Styled Shoot

Happy International Women’s Day you all!!! So many great posts, pieces of art, sessions, events, and even this blog are taking a beat to focus on something wholly needed: gender equity and equality!

At my day job, I asked for everyone to take a pledge to commit to taking actions toward supporting this effort, here is mine:

I’m committed to:

continuing my own education on these subjects
listening & supporting Women of Color leading in this space
taking individual actions to drive change
holding myself accountable when I falter

We must all do our part to ensure the conversation and actions focus on the racial equity part of gender equality. Happy IWD everyone!

The initial theme of the shoot was Modern Boho, but with a venue as historic as The Towers in Narragansett, you can’t NOT incorporate coastal decor! While steering clear of the typical nautical items, we brought in the coastal theme with pops of blue in the tablescape, cake, and florals. We had a gorgeous farm table donned with a dusty blue runner, gorgeous florals, and tall candlesticks.

We kept a Modern feel throughout with dark colors, gold accents, and geometric patterns. The geometric gold arbor was a focal point on its own but when Songbird Floral Designs added their floral touch, it became a showpiece. The bride’s bouquets were both whimsical and modern with their dark red and mauve roses, long greenery accents, and a surprise of cranberries!

The gorgeous dresses complimented each other in a subtle, yet unique, way. While Nicole wore a more modern, structured gown, Brianna flaunted a fitted boho dress with vines and overlapping leaves trailing from the sweetheart neckline to the train.

While it may have seemed impossible to tie modern, boho, and coastal all together in one shoot, Ocean State Events did just that. The timeless color palette, design, and details will have us feeling the love into 2021 and we’re not mad about it!
